Most Embarrassing Photo

Ok, the well has run dry. I’m experiencing what must be termed Blogger’s Block. How awful – both to experience it and to call it that. The previous picture post did nothing to satisfy my need to provide amusing content. I couldn’t find any decent memes online today, although I did find an interesting article on the different types of booze referenced in Star Trek. Man, that Kirk was a lush.

So, faced with the certainty of nothingness, I decided to make fun of myself.

Please find below the Most Embarrassing Photograph I could find of myself. I challenge anyone reading this to post their own – and relate the story behind it.

Mine goes something like this:

Freshman year in college, the WPI Men’s Glee Club went to Wells College and Union College for a concert weekend. We were singing the Mozart Requiem, one of my favorite pieces. The Union College Choir held a party that Saturday night at one of the college fraternity houses, as was the custom for this sort of thing.

Well, needless to say, it was an interesting party. One of my roommates ended up praying on the 50-yard line of the football field that he would not hook-up with a woman pursuing him who he found, oh, let’s say mildly undesirable. My other roommate and I decided to search the house for a funnel. To anyone reading this who does not know what this is, watch Old School. It was a frat house. Of course we found one.

The last thing I remember is being carried back to our dorm, by whom I have no idea. I do, however, have a vague memory of being propped up against a tree while my escorts conversed with some of the women in the choirs. The next morning, voila, instant political career ender! This must be why W’s records are sealed.

As a proper epilogue, I sang the concert that day, standing in the front row of a balcony. My friends had to hold the back of my tuxedo to keep me from falling over the edge. Good times.
